Event:From Stubs to Stories: Strengthening Women's Representation on Kai Wikipedia
Art+Feminism Edit-a-thon: Kai Wikipedia
Closing the gender gap on Karai-Karai (Kai) Wikipedia by de-stubbing existing biographies, creating new articles, and improving representation for notable women worldwide.
About the Event
This community event is aimed at closing the gender gap on Kai Wikipedia by improving the coverage of notable women and their achievements.
In our previous campaign, we successfully created numerous articles highlighting notable women of various nationalities on Kai Wikipedia, a newly hatched wiki. Building on that foundation, our primary focus this year is on de-stubbing those articles. We will expand them with well-researched, verifiable information, reliable sources, and clear structural improvements so they better reflect the accomplishments and lasting impact of these women. Additionally, participants will create new articles for notable women who are not yet represented on the platform.
The event warmly welcomes both new and experienced editors. All participants will receive hands-on training, step-by-step editing support, and direct access to reference resources needed to contribute confidently. By working together, we aim to elevate content quality, increase women's visibility online, and foster a balanced and inclusive knowledge ecosystem. Everyone is invited to join us in preserving these vital stories!
